Happy New Year!
How has yours been so far? I started work last week, short week. Terry and I had a lovely time off with Ethan. It was also a bit of a challenge as all the celebrating and Ethan’s molars coming in just wrecked his sleep schedule. E was often up until 11pm and waking up at 8 or 9 the next morning. Needless to say, Terry and I didn’t get much time to ourselves! We’re still not back to a normal schedule. In the last few days, Ethan has also woken up in the middle of the night and stayed awake for a few hours before finally drifting back to sleep. It’s tough, but as everything, I tell myself “this to shall pass”. I hope soon! Anyways, he fell asleep tonight at 8:20 which is pretty much on par with his regular schedule. So here is to hoping he sleeps through the night! By the way, E turns fourteen months tomorrow! He’s such a toddler now and has just gone through a major growth spurt. Probably also a reason why he is sleeping has been so eradicate. Regardless, he has changed so much.
This week is back to our regular schedule (watch out for our weekly dinner plan back next Sunday) and being organized again! Before Christmas, I started a new workout program, PIIT28. I love it! It’s from the Blogilates creator Casey Ho and it’s high intensity training. Fun, challenging moves and done in under 30 minutes. The program requires you exercise 6/7 days of the week but as I am trying to figure out when I can get my exercise sessions in, I am aiming to start January with four workout sessions a week to kick off my healthy new year! Two in the morning before work and two on the weekend. I also would like to eat less dessert. I save dessert for the end of the day, one treat. Terry and I had so many treats here during the holidays. And one night while we were eating our cake again for dessert, Ethan as usual grunted for some and I of course indulged him, I realized, shoot, I need to cut back. He’s my my and Terry’s mirror. I don’t want E to have too many sweets. But not cut them out completely either.. A good balance. Anyways, back to my health plan, I know just doing these two things will help me tone up more and get to my ideal weight (135lbs). I currently weigh 143lbs in case you are wondering!
I don’t like setting new year resolutions as I am constantly trying to better myself. What I am focusing on right now is to learn more, be healthier as I just shared and take more time for myself. Since having Ethan, I really get caught up in getting stuff done. You know, the stuff that always needs to get done, like laundry, cooking and putting stuff away… I feel like I am always putting stuff away. It all takes time and eats away at your off-time. So I am learning to set goals of what I want to get done that day and when other things pop in, to ask if they really need to be done right away so that I can focus on what is important to me to get done. But I swear, there are not enough hours in the day! I’ll report more on all of this in a month to share how it’s going.
So on that note, I wish you a very happy, healthy and peaceful 2017!
Here are a few pictures from the last week or so.
