I’ve been pretty sick these last few days which fortunately has left me with a bit of time to ‘surf the net’ and consequently, find some pretty cool links that I love.
I had some old bananas that were getting very black on my counter. They were progressively getting more black as I procrastinated baking with them. I found this yummy recipe for Banana Zucchini Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies. Love it! They are totally healthy, ok well, pretty healthy. I followed the recipe exactly, except I substituted vegan chocolate chips with semi sweet chocolate chips. YUM. Terry has been eating them too, that says a lot (he really does not like zucchini)! I also made these Zucchini Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies (similar) awhile ago, they were also delicious but not as healthy as these babies.
A friend of mine received the cutest customized camo toddler backpack for a gift when her baby was born. I fell in love with it. As you know Ethan recently started daycare and of course he needed a backpack so I ordered one. What does he put in it?! Haha, nothing, unless we have stuff to bring to daycare. Otherwise it actually stays here at home. But I’m sure once he is old enough to start drawing and doing other things he will use it to bring stuff to and fro.
I’m loving this Mackage moto jacket… I had a pleather moto jacket that I loved and wore for years and it fell a part last year just before I gave birth. It literally ripped in the back. I was so sad. Pleather does not wear out like leather does, it just looks horrible as it rips and just disintegrates. Leather however will last forever and wears out nicely. Justification enough to spend the big bucks? We’ll see.
Are you familiar with Marie Forleo, from Marie TV? She is amazing. I always watch her videos when I am in need of a perk-me-up. I watched these two videos this week and just loved them, really inspiring. Really awesome stuff.
And this one with Seth Godin, loved it!
One of my takeaways was when he talked about getting stuff done and what we are willing to let go of to get it done. Sometimes I find myself trying to do a million things in one day which, as you know is not possible. I think I need to really look at my list each day, choose what I really want to get done and what I am willing to let go of. He also really spoke to me when he said, don’t wait for the right moment, just go for it. It’s not the first time I’ve heard this but there is something in the way that he said it that really stuck with me.
